Prayer: the supernatural gateway to peace.

In today’s world many people are concerned and overwhelmed by circumstances. The enemy has saturated our society with the spirit of fear. People are fearful of economic conditions, fearful of natural disasters, and fearful of many other potential situations.  2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. When we were born again we became new creations, redeemed from the curse of sin and brought into the kingdom of light. We have been adopted as sons of God and created to live in supernatural provision, health, and peace. Jesus stepped in by His grace and removed the burden of sin.

As we fellowship with the Holy Spirit in prayer our Spirit man is built up (Jude 20). A supernatural peace begins to blanket our soul. Philippians 4: 6-8- Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  In prayer we find a peace that those in the world can not understand. The source of this peace is revelation of our covenant rights and provision as a child of God. Prayer is a demonstration of utter dependency upon God. 1 Peter 5:7- Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Prayer is unfiltered communication with God. We come before Him talking with Him and receiving instructions and direction from Him. We are released from the cares that would attempt to place fear (the opposite of faith) upon us. We literally become free from the cares of the situations that we face and we are bathed in His love and grace. Also, as we fellowship with the Holy Spirit through praying in other tongues, we receive divine revelation which builds our faith and increases our level of personal peace.

Think about your dream vacation, you are free from the responsibilities that you normally carry and you simply relax on a white sandy beach while people attend to your every need. Why would you be so relaxed in that environment? Because you would be free from the normal cares and stress of life. This is the type of atmosphere that is created in your soul through prayer. You tap into a peace that is deeper than the one that comes on a vacation. The peace that comes on a vacation is connected to your natural surroundings but the peace that comes in prayer is disconnected from surroundings because it is not natural but supernatural. As your intimate walk with the Father grows you become convinced of His love and provision for you and you are released from torment. The release comes as you begin to understand that you are no longer in charge of your life but the Creator of the universe is. He has walked ahead of you and provided grace for you to overcome every trap of the enemy. In prayer, His plan becomes crystal clear and a deep abiding peace replaces fear. The type of fear that He is talking about is a fear that manifests when you feel totally responsible for yourself and you become overwhelmed by your own human insufficiency. Prayer brings you above that false sense of responsibility and into the very throne room of God.

As we navigate through the perilous times ahead, we must become a people of prayer. We must begin every day with a seeking time and end every day with thanksgiving. We need the peace of God ruling in our souls so that faith is empowered and we are able to go forward in the plans and purposes of our Father.

Revival Sparks 2

Their heart cried unto the LORD, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.

Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the LORD: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street. (Lamentations 2:18-19).

Those who are called to spark the fire of revival through intercession will begin to burn with a desire to pray for their assigned place. God is releasing the spirit of intercession upon His bride. In these final moments of the church age there is a drawing into the inner chambers of the house of God Almighty. We are being beckoned by the great Creator of all things to arise and cry out to heaven.

One of the great tools of the devil to to make intercessors feel insignificant. The enemy will tell prayer warriors that what they are doing is of none effect but that is a lie from hell. Mighty intercession in the Spirit is one of the key sparks to last days revival. Every revivalist Pastor, Apostle, or ministry leader of any kind must recognize the need for intercession. Begin to call forth the intercessors. Cast a vision for prayer warriors to arise, then find leaders who are committed to prayer and have them form prayer ministry .

No two prayer ministries will be just alike. Relationship with Christ is extremely personal and intimate. It is foolish of us to think that everyone’s relationship with the lover of their soul will be just like ours. There are patterns of prevailing prayer that we can teach. There are power principles that will make prayer effective. The primary knowledge that an intercessor must have concerning governing prayer (Matt. 16:19- prayer that rules territories) is:

1.) All authority has BEEN given- in order to pray effectively a believer must have revelation of the complete work of Calvary. As we go into intercessory prayer we are not trying to gain the authority of Christ, we already have it. We are exercising dominion by claiming the word of God over our church, family, leaders, city and nation. Worship is another tool in the intercessors tool belt. Praise and worship stop the work of hell.  Spirit-led, word based prayer mixed with worship are the marks of victory!

2.) God can only answer faith-filled prayers. The bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it is impossible to please God. Intercessors must prophesy (speak the revealed word of The Lord) to situations. It is key that the intercessor has a solid word base upon which to build. The word of God is the ultimate weapon in prayer. God wants His people to decree the word of God over their region. We are to speak just as Jesus did to the fig tree (Mark 11:23).

And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. (Ezekiel 22:30).

The Lord is looking for people who will rise up and take hold of His promises over cities, churches, and people. This is a Holy assignment. As intercessors begin to take their positions in the spirit they build a hedge of protection in prayer.

Intercessors will experience many different realms in prayer:

                        1. Prayers of faith. This is the realm in which you are simply standing in agreement with the word. This is a powerful realm of prayer because it is based soley on what God said apart from all human thought or emotion.

                        2. Deep groanings. This is a realm of supernatural intercession when the Holy Ghost takes control and sounds begin to burst forth from your belly so deep you can hardly bear up under it. This is an urgent prayer that comes and goes in a moment’s notice. The result of this type of prayer is usually a miraculous breakthrough.

                        3. Prophetic praying. This is a type of prayer in which there is a unique partnership with The Holy Ghost. As you pray in tongues the Holy Spirit begins to provide interpretations and you decree things in english. You find yourself praying for things and areas that you never imagined. God created everything in the known world by words and has equipped us with the same creative faith. In this realm of prayer your mouth is employed as the prophetic mouthpiece of The Lord.

                        4. Prayers of agreement. I have been to many prayer meetings where the people were praying over requests and screaming so loud that nobody even knew what was being prayed for. It is critical in the prayer of agreement that each party involved understands exactly what the request  is and releases their faith on that request. Once faith has been released a covenant of agreement is formed. In order for this type of prayer to be effective the parties involved must stand and not move off the promise.

                        5. Worship. In the Old Testament God often instructed Israel to go into worship before the battle. Worship is a key tool to release victory and shut the mouth of the devil. Ministrels also unlock the prophetic gifting so intense worship will bring you into a realm where you more effectively hear from God.

                        6. Praying in the Spirit. We will cover this in greater detail later but personal prayer in the spirit is a must for every prayer warrior. It is imperative that an intercessor has an active prayer life in the Holy Ghost. This will build a deep foundation upon which the intercessory prayer ministry can be built.

Revival Sparks Part 1

Revival Sparks

The fire of revival is much like a natural fire, it takes a spark to begin the flame. Prayer and intercession are two of the vital sparks needed to ignite the fire of revival in various cities and regions. I meet powerful intercessors often as I travel to minister and they are unique people who have developed an intense walk with God. A few moments in their presence can ignite a passion in your spirit for the deeper things of God.

Many of these men and women have been through mighty spiritual battles and stood strong. They have often stood alone crying out for a church, city, or region. Their hearts burn with undying passion for the move of God. Others may be satisfied with church as usual but these mighty men and women wrestle with a holy dissatisfaction. They are not pleased until the presence of God comes forth in their churches.

I see a tidal wave of prophetic intercession coming. Over the past several years many prayer movements have been birthed employing worship as a key battle weapon. Only God could have planned something so unique. Many seasoned intercessors find no need for live worship music while praying but the younger generation have found a David anointing and have taken their place of battle in the army.

This move of intercession and revival will be cross generational. We have to incorporate every age. God has commissioned prayer warriors who will boldly walk the floor reminding Him of His word and praying heaven down. He has also raised up young men and women armed with prophetic music who are igniting a whole new generation of prayer warriors.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the LORD hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying. (Acts 12:5-12)

The unrelenting prayer of the church turned away a demonic assignment that had arisen against Peter. What if the early church had not yielded to prayer and intercession? They would have allowed the devil to destroy the ministry of their spiritual father and would have severely impeded the plan of God.

We must have dedicated intercessors who turn back the plans of the enemy. The devil is not going to let us move into the fire of revival without challenging us. God has already given us victory over the devil and delegated His power and authority to us (Luke 9:1) . It is our job as believers to manifest that authority through faith.

One way that we manifest that authority is in prayer. The church holds the power to bind evil spiritual forces over our cities and loose the glory of of God. (Matthew 16:19).

More to come on this topic!

New Realms Part 2

I am calling the worshippers out to dance before the people to bring my presence. There is a new realm of heavenly worship that is sent to mark this hour.

I want my Psalmists to stand before my people and sing unto me songs of passion and pursuit.

Then I will anoint them to sing songs of victory that will bring my people out from the enemy’s attacks.

They will prophetically sing out over my beloved, singing and releasing my children from captivity: songs for moments, songs for specific people, songs for inspiration, songs for nations, songs for war, songs for healing.

Let the song of the Lord flow….songs for cities, sounds of revival designed to touch a certain territory and break it open in the Spirit.

New songs will take my people to new realms.

Put away the old things.

It’s a New moment…a Now moment….a prophetic time.

I come against the spirit of barrenness. I’ve destined my people to bear fruit, to multiply. The spirit of barrenness causes the fruit to be cast before its time. Therefore, the harvest is aborted. It’s an attack against fruitfulness in the ministry. Begin to cry out for FRUIT.

Pray and confess, “I am fruitful, this ministry is fruitful…”

II Peter 1:8, John 15:4, Gal 4:27, Mal 3:11

New Realms Part 1

Here is part 1 of a prophetic word that I received from The Lord for His people:

It s time to climb higher. You can not enter into your prophetic (God declared) destiny without prophetic (anointed & empowered) vision. It’s time for my people to learn a new dimension of prayer, one in which they seek my utterance and counsel. I will empower you to make war and do battle. I will give you detailed instruction but you must seek me with a keen ear, one that is laid upon my breast and can hear my heart beat. I will visit you with heavenly encounters. These encounters will provide encouragement, insight, and strength. My people must become more sensitive to my leading. I will awaken you to come up higher. Seek me, this is a time of refreshing and cleansing. I am washing your blood stained garments that carry the marks of battle and pain. I am giving you you priestly robes with spotless fabric drenched in my glory and splendor.

Call my people to seek me like never before. There is a shifting and a sifting in the spirit. I am separating those who have been faithful. I am taking them higher. It’s time for my church to yearn for the prophetic. Get hungry for spirit-led and spirit-filled utterances. Press and refuse to go home until I have visited you.

Calling all gatekeepers

We are living in a time of growing deception in the Church. Loose living, greed, sexual deviation, and other forms of sin are not only being condoned but also embraced in the pulpits of many churches. There is a tremendous need for strong leaders to, not only speak out in love, but also to rise up and refuse to allow the devil access to the Church.

Imagine what the Apostle Paul would have to say about many of the situations that are playing out in today’s Church. Paul was an Apostle who took his place as a leader of churches and congregations seriously. He often brought correction to the Body of Christ about issues ranging from false doctrine to sinful living. In today’s era of “rockstar” preachers and celebrity style of ministry, talent is exalted above character and there is little to no demand from believers for moral clarity. I do believe that many people are fed up and want something that is real, solid, and stable.

Psalm 24:7-10  Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.  Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.  Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

The Church must open the gates! The King of Glory wants to move in the midst of the people of God but the gate is the entry point.

In bible times cities were walled for protection. They had gates that allowed traffic in and out; above the gate was a high tower with a watchmen for protection. Watchmen could see invaders or any danger from a long way off. They would sound an alarm if an enemy was coming…

    Isaiah 62:6 I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
give yourselves no rest.

If an enemy would come the gatekeeper would guard the gates-

2 Sam 18:26-28 (NIV) Then the watchman saw another man running, and he called down to the gatekeeper, “Look, another man running alone!”
The king said, “He must be bringing good news, too.”

God has placed Gatekeepers in the Body of Christ to act as modern-day Apostles. Just as Paul judged situations, dealt with false doctrine, and exposed the demonic culture of his day, so to must these apostolic Gatekeepers deal with such situations. No longer can we run and bury our heads in the sand. We must speak out against the growing immorality in the Church and return the people of God to Bible-based living. If we lose popularity over taking biblical stands then so be it. It is far better to be in the will of God than applauded by man.

   Apostolic Gatekeepers-

*      Control the point of access-they are responsible to protect the Body and maintain the Kingdom.

*     Maintain spiritual order

*      Enforce the Kingdom government

*      Adhere to sound doctrine and use the Word of God as the blueprint for their ministries and as the council for decisions.

*      Have a fathering role in the Body of Christ.

* They guide believers by setting an example of biblical and moral integrity.

*      Are unafraid to deal with major issues.

*      Lay the foundation for biblical revival and moves of God.

*      See the big picture and have divine insight. They lead the Body with tremendous spiritual vision.

Psalms 84:10  For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

God is calling forth modern Gatekeepers. These are men and women who will build solid, moral, and authentic ministries. I believe that a great move of God is coming in these final days but it is of vital importance that the Gatekeepers step up and lead the Body. I will have more on this subject to come….blessings to you!
